It’s not all roses in the lives of the rich and famous. There is a patch of thorns here and there. It appears Kaizer Chiefs skipper, Itumeleng Khune has hit hard times both on and off pitch. Other than on the field problems, it appears Itu Khune and wife, Sphelele Makhunga have gone in two different ways.
In 2019, Itumeleng Khune and his wife, Sphelele Makhunga tied the knot and welcomed a baby girl.
The couple celebrated 3rd years anniversary in November and were all loved up and happy. Sadly, it appears all is not well in the Khune household. Sphelele Makhunga is reported to have moved out of their marital home in Joburg before Christmas. Sphelele went to Durban to spend Christmas with her family leaving the skipper behind. She says that she left him behind because she is “fed up”.
The couple seems to be taking a break. Tough times for Itumeleng Khune. Over the past Itumeleng has been seen with other women with videos being posted too of the soccer player with other women. While Sphelele’s reasons for leaving her marital home were not revealed, she is said to have been “fed up”. Sphelele posted a Christmas photo with her and her daughter and Khune was not on the photos.
Life isnt exciting for the skipper in the pitch. He has been benched many times with his last match being against SuperSport on December 15. Various mistakes at the beginning of the season made him lose first preference for the Kaizer Chiefs number 1 jersey. Gavin Hunt made it clear that Ituo Khune would have to fight for his place in the team. He has to stay fit, train hard and impress the technical team.
This is just too much for a rough end and start to the year.
