Shauwn Mkhize Joins Uzalo
This will be her first acting gig
Shauwn Mkhize an astute businesswoman and reality show star, has just joined SABC 1’s primetime soapie Uzalo. Finally the cat was let out of the bag through an Instagram post by the show on its Instagram account, teasing her debut coming soon.
Mamkhize will be joining a star-studded cast of the show together with the likes of Dawn Thandeka King, Nompilo Maphumulo, and Thuthuka Mthembu. Mamkhize’s decision to venture into acting has come as a surprise to many as she rose to superstardom with her reality show KwamaMkhize featuring her family.
This will be her first time acting on the national TV as she has never acted before. It shows that she is spreading her wings in the industry by trying the waters in the world of acting and many are looking forward to her appearance and asking prowess. By the look of things, it seems that millions of viewers will be recorded prior to her debut.
Her maturity and humble behaviors continues to steal the hearts of many people in South Africa. Recently in less than a year, she celebrated a million followers on Instagram since she opened her account which is a force to be reckoned.
With new characters joining the show, Uzalo has been shaking things up others exiting lately. It was recently reported that former Uzalo actors including Khaya Dladla, TK Dlamini, Nay Maps, as well as Nokuthula Mabika, will be returning this year.
“I’m not sure when I’m going to appear on TV, but we have agreed to come back to Uzalo. I’m preparing to be on set soon,” Khaya told Daily Sun. We are expecting a large viewership due to bringing these much-loved characters and Mamkhize on board.
Lately, Uzalo’s storyline has been the talk of the town with many people boycotting to watch the show’s “boring storyline.” SABC 1 recently announced a 3-year agreement with the famed Stained Glass production. This is the first longterm arrangement that has been placed and by far the show represents an unequivocal vote of confidence the channel places in Mzansi’s best-performing soapie.
Captain Yamkela Mpambani who played Jet Novuka has been dumped by the show. The actor joined the hit soapie last year in July and his fans will be disappointed to discover that he has been dropped due to a change in the storyline.
