A video went viral of Lahore University students students, a female student proposing to her male classmate.
The proposal video shows the woman going down on one knee with a bouquet of roses in her hand and a crowd of bystanders cheers her on. Her boyfriend, who seems to have ‘accepted’ her proposal, is seen hugging her afterwards.
The video went viral and the University institution caught it to their attention. They were called for disciplinary as they were not pleased with the development.
In a letter issued on Friday, the varsity mentioned that the two students were involved in gross misconduct and violation of University rules.
Reading the University’s notification, the two students did not attend a special disciplinary committee meeting to discuss the incident.
Following their failure to attend the meeting, the administration then decided to expel the students and ban them from entering any of the university’s campuses.
Many social media users criticized the University’s action towards the students saying the move was rather drastic and unnecessary.
Here are some of the comments from Twitter;

A country where pedophiles are defended and protected in the name of child marriage and converting religion of little girls we are uncomfortable with two consenting adults expressing love for each other. We reduce our so called morals to a joke everyday. #UniversityOfLahore
