Rapper K.O resurfaces with a banger after many fail attempts to live up to his smash single ‘Caracara’. The Soweto born artist is currently topping charts, with his new single ‘Sete’ the song is currently on every radio station in the country.The rapper had many set backs in his music career since the release of his first solo album ‘Skhanda Republic’, the last eight years were filled with mediocre singles in hopes of creating a buzz.

 

 

The year 2022 seems to be the rapper’s year, Sete proves to be the song to be a jump start for his career. An interview at Metro FM on Touch Drive gives clarity on the rapper’s perspective regarding South African Hip-Hop. T-bo Touch, touched on the “death of Hip-hop” in SA, the past few years rap music seems to have took a back seat. The Amapiano genre have been the driving force, flying the South African flag overseas.

 

 

K.O stated that South African Hip-Hop needs rejuvenation, he gave a shout out to Big Zulu and AKA for keeping the genre relavent. He touched on who his competitors are stating that one has to have a much broader vision. According to the Sete rapper, international DJ, Black Coffee and Drake are his competition. He stated he does not see Mafikeng rapper as his competition.
