The President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, His Excellency Emmerson Mnangagwa, has departed for Gaborone, Botswana, to attend the inauguration of the newly elected President-elect Duma Boko.

President Mnangagwa was seen off at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport by Vice President General (Retired) Dr. Constantino Chiwenga, along with cabinet ministers, service chiefs, and senior government officials.

Botswana recently held its General Elections on the 30th of last month, resulting in a victory for the opposition party, which unseated the long-standing ruling party. This significant political shift marks a new chapter in Botswana’s democratic journey.

President Mnangagwa’s attendance at the inauguration underscores the unity and solidarity among Southern African Development Community (SADC) nations, highlighting the importance of regional cooperation and mutual support.
