Miss South Africa Shudufhadzo Musida has spoken out against bullying. This was after the sad incident that happened concerning pupil Lufuno Mavhungu who was bullied until she made up her mind to take her own life.
It’s said that Lufuno could not take the bullying anymore. A video of her being bullied went viral, and later that day she took an overdose of tablets and she died by si_cide.

Responding to the bullying, the Limpopo-born beauty queen said Lufuno’s story had triggered her.
“When I was between the ages of 11 and 12, I got beaten up so badly by a group of guys and girls, and I remember apologizing so much. I remember the girls cheering on the guy that was kicking my ribs until I realized that it wouldn’t stop.
So I didn’t bother crying because I knew it wouldn’t help,” she shared.
“My mom knew little about the bullying, but never knew how bad it was. I was in pain for about a week, but I couldn’t tell anyone. The Lufuno story is so triggering. All I can see is how she stood there and didn’t do anything because you get to that point.”

Currently, Shudu is doing her mental health campaign and she added: “What happened to Lufuno shows the impact of bullying on mental health. Silence is complacency, and we cannot be complacent when it comes to harm. My deepest condolences to Lufuno’s family.”
The beauty queen together with Miss Supranational SA and Miss SA 2020 first runner-up Dr Thato Mosehle, on Thursday will be doing a 5km run to raise funds for mental well-being. This will be in partnership with Discovery Vitality and the SA Depression and Anxiety Group.
