Today was the day when the famous apostolic sect leader Madzibaba Ishmael was supposed to show up for trial, but in a twist of events him and one of his lieutenants Takavengwa Gwenzi did not show up at the Norton Magistrate court where their lawyer spoke of both of them being hospitalised.
Although Madzibaba Ishmael is still under police custody, there was a warrant of arrest issued for failing to notify the court of his condition and posible absence. Takavengwa is out on bail.
It is believed that the cult leader is admitted at the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correction Services remand hospital while his apprentice isat Parirenyatwa Hospital. The nature of their healthy condition is still unknown while it is believed that it is against the cult leader and his counterpart’s beliefs to be seeking any medical treatment.
However, the Norton Magistrate Christine Nyandoro confirmed both warrants of arrests for the victims.
