Prominent Zimbabwean social media personality and self-proclaimed anti-feminist, Tawona Shadaya Knight, has once again found himself at the center of controversy. Known for his outspoken views on masculinity and gender roles, Shadaya made Twitter headlines following an interview by Dj Olla 7 with the daughters of the late Oliver Mtukudzi.
The drama unfolded when Selma Mtukudzi, daughter of the late legendary musician, responded to Shadaya’s previous comments about the Mtukudzi family ‘drama’. During the interview, Selma asserted that Shadaya had no right to comment on their family matters. She remarked, “He is a young boy, he is not married, he knows nothing.”
In response, Shadaya took to Twitter to express his views on the matter. His tweets, known for their controversial nature, sparked a flurry of reactions. While Shadaya is widely recognized for his critical stance on women and men he deems as “simping,” this time his comments led to a wave of sympathy for the Mtukudzi family in the comment section.
The online community remains divided, with some supporting Shadaya’s right to express his opinions, while others criticize him for his harsh remarks. As the debate continues, it is clear that Shadaya’s influence on social media remains as potent as ever.
