In an interview with ZTNPrime, a man who claims to be Oliver Mtukudzi’s son, Aaron, talks about the famous song “Hazvireve Rudo Handina.”

Aaron says the song means a lot to him because it’s like a message from his dad, even though they didn’t know each other well. He talks about how he felt when he found out the song might be about him, and how it helped him understand his dad better.
He claims that Mtukudzi is a father who was never there when he needed him the most. He regrets the time he did not attended school because he did not knew about his father.
There has been no formal response from the Mtukudzi family to these claims but it is believed that Aaron might be speculating and will need to do a DNA test to prove that he belongs to Oliver
Rosie Makumbe, who is 69 years old, says that Oliver Mtukudzi’s song “Hazvireve Rudo Handina” was about her son, Aaron, who was born in 1979. She remembers when she and Mtukudzi were teenagers and fell in love. Rosie recalls how Mtukudzi used to visit a place called Jeri’s, where they met and she got pregnant.
Despite Rosie’s attempts to have Mtukudzi acknowledge Aaron as his son, things didn’t work out. She ended up putting her own name on Aaron’s birth certificate because Mtukudzi was always too busy to help. Mtukudzi talked about teaching Aaron to sing, but it never really happened, even though Aaron went to see other musicians for lessons. Rosie’s story shows how their relationship was complicated, leaving her feeling disappointed in the end.
