Police minister BhekiCele visited the family of the late Mthokozisi Ntumba who died after he was shot by the police during the Wits protest as he was coming out of the clinic in Braamfontein.

When he visited the family, the Economic Freedom Party reports that Cele had promised the family that the ANC will cover all the funeral expenses, but when they chose to follow up on his promise, Cele questioned the family if they do not have a funeral policy. Regardless of Cele’s promise, the EFF has thus chosen to pay for all the funeral costs as it is obvious that the ANC has no intention to pay for the burial.

Mzansi got mad as people say that the ANC has never been good in keeping their promises. The public says that majority of politicians promise unrealistic things and never live up to their word. Some have been throwing insults at the police minister, saying that he is exactly the same as his police officers, unsympathetic and ruthless.

Some are in support of the police minister, saying that he never asked them about a policy but his spokesperson responsible for communticating with the family is the one who asked the family if they had no policy to bury Mthokozisi Ntumba.

Whatever the case may be, at least the EFF will pay for all the funeral costs and the family will bury their loved one with dignity.
