On Tuesday, a statement was released by the record company which confirmed that Lebogang is no more and had passed away during the early hours of the day.

In the statement, it was mentioned that the circumstances that caused his death will be made known by his family in due course through a formal statement.

However, Emtee Records cleared up speculation that Lebogang was with the rapper at the time of his death. This was after rumours had gone viral that the late Lebogang died in the studio due to a possible drug overdose.

“In the meantime, we note the unfortunate utterances and speculations that are already circulating on social media around the circumstances of the death.

For the record, at the time of death, Lebo was neither with Emtee nor was he at Emtee’s place or studio.

We view these and similar utterances as inhuman and insensitive to both Lebo’s family and friends in particular Emtee who, at the moment, is trying to come to terms with the loss of a childhood friend.”

The statement was concluede by a request for fans to keep Lebogang’s family, as well as Emtee, in prayer and also appreciated them for their words of comfort.
