Last year, the suspect who was arrested on allegations of killing famous musician Cal Vin in a hit and run accident has been cleared on all charges.

This follows after the police stated that DNA tests carried out on the blood found on Wilfred Mafuka’s vehicle proved conclusively that it was not from the accident, as it belonged to an animal.

Speaking to state media, Mafuka said,

“The police phoned me telling me I could collect my car since the tests had proven that I was not involved in the accident that killed Cal Vin. The blood samples they had collected from my car belonged to an animal and not that of a human being,”

The highly talented musician and award-winning rapper Cal Vin, real name Mgcini Calvin Nhliziyo, passed away in October last year after a fatal accident that happened a few metres from his home. That Luveve Boy, as Cal Vin was 35-years-old at the time of his death.

After the death of the musician, Bulawayo Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Judith Ncube commanded the killer to hand themselves to the police rather than to act as if nothing had happened.

The police arrested Mafuka a few days later in connection with the hit and run accident. Shockingly, Mafuka is the one who handed himself over to the authorities.

It shows, that Mafuka wasnt aware of what had happened on the night in question.

Mafuka has a different car from what was reported, according to reports as he owns a Mazda Atenza, and is reported to have been attending an Anti-Sanctions Gala at Bulawayo Rainbow Hotel during the time of the hit and run.
