Mastercard has been the latest to serve a major blow as it was cancelled inorder to fight against Pornhub’s child-abuse and rape related videos.

Due to unethical and unlawful content on the site, Mastercard being the payment giant decided to block the use of its cards to get access adult content from Pornhub.

“Our investigation over the past several days has confirmed violations of our standards prohibiting unlawful content on their site. We instructed the financial institutions that connect the site to our network to terminate acceptance, ” Mastercard said in a statement.

Visa also removed its servers from the website as the payment giant had removed itself.

New York Times columnist, Nicholas Kristof was doing some investigations and said that Pornhub remained giving its users access to child porn and rape related videos.

Mastercard was identified as one of many companies that promoted Pornhub’s content since they were giving users access to the site, but Pornhub and its parent company, MindGeek refused these allegations.

Pornhub said it cleared all child porn related videos from its servers and has just introduced a user verification to only allow verified people to upload their content and a download button has been removed from all contents.

Inorder to regulate how the content is uploaded and distributed, they had to take such measures.

Mastercard then announced that it was going to break all ties with the adult content site, Pornhub said that the payment company’s actions were “exceptionally disappointing”.

Two days ago, the Pornhub claimed to be the only website that had instituted the most far-reaching safeguards in the history of user-generated platforms. Compared to Facebook, which was found to have more than 84 million cases of child porn, the Internet Watch Foundation only found 118 cases from Pornhub. ‌

Therefore the adult-content site says Mastercard’s actions were a bit unfair.

Pornhub is for free to those who want to accessand users were allowed to even.download for free from the site, but those who wanted exceptional quality, unedited and exclusive content only accessed through a method of payment using either Visa or Mastercard.

The website has gained popularity across the globe and has gone viral over the years.

Pornhub received over 42 billion users in 2019 and they had uploaded more than 6, 83 million videos this year.

A major blow has been dealt to Pornhub after the investigations as both Mastercard and Visa removed users’ access to quality and private content the site served.

Many models will be highly affected as they also used these websites to make money, Pornhyb claims.
