It’s been a terrible week for Mzansi as we mourn two big stars in the entertainment industry, Menzi Ngubane and Noxolo Maqashalala as well King Goodwill Zwelithini.Following the announcement of Noxolo’s passing after her body was discovered partially decomposed at her Johannesburg home
The reason behind her death was not known up until recently. Police in Honeydew, Johannesburg revealed that they suspected no foul play in her death. Nonetheless, they are currently investigating possibilities.
“Our members that arrived at the scene found the property totally locked. They just got a bad smell, and when the members managed to enter the property, they found the partially decomposed body of a female. No foul play was discovered at the time of recovering the body,” said a police spokesperson to ewn.
Speaking to Sowetan, Noxolo’s uncle revealed that the family has found some sort of closure in knowing that nothing sinister had occurred.“We asked ourselves if she was poisoned or had been sick but the postmortem has proven that there was nothing sinister.
“We will continue enjoying her work in different shows where she was featured and remind ourselves of the good person she was. People from this village loved and cherished her.” He said. “She put the family name out there and we loved that… we will miss her beautiful smile.”
The late actress’ passing came as a shock after family members confirmed her death. Earlier reports suggested that her body was discovered by a delivery man last week Friday.
“I received a call from her brother informing me of her death. Someone went to drop off something at her place and realised there was something strange,” revealed family friend Senyukele Zibobo…
“Something was being delivered to her and the delivery person suspected something wasn’t okay. They had to find a way in and they found her dead. When forensics got there and checked, they said it looked like she had been dead for a week.”Noxolo will be laid to rest at Kwa Bhaca, formerly Mount Free on Saturday.
